The North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team continued strong play in Ohio Saturday with a 9-7 win over Archbishop Moeller.

The Tigers found themselves down early, but found offense courtesy of sophomore Mason Brown, who scored with just over six minutes left in the first quarter. The Crusaders had a 4-1 lead after one period.

NA added two more goals in the second frame from junior Nick Sichak and Brown. Moeller held a 5-3 lead at the half.

The Tigers found their offensive stride in the third quarter, scoring five goals from senior Sam Porter, junior Colt Gibson, a pair from junior Johnny Castillo and a hat trick marker from Brown. NA led 8-6 after three quarters.

Both teams traded goals in the fourth quarter, with Porter scoring the insurance tally.

Senior goalie Logan Lyle was a game-changer, making 14 critical saves in net to earn the win. Senior Colman Craft ended the contest with two ground balls and two takeaways. Sophomore Jack Ewalt also had three important draw controls. Castillo ended the contest with two goals, an assist and three ground balls.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 4-5 overall. NA is back in action Tuesday with a non-conference road matchup with Fox Chapel. Faceoff is slated for 6:00 p.m.
