The North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team stretched its winning streak to four in a row on Saturday, upending Manheim Township, 9-2, from Newman Stadium.

The Blue Streaks wasted no time getting on the board, as junior Mason Lyons opened the scoring just a minute into the contest. Less than a minute later, junior Travis Lamark went to work and scored the first of five goals on the day, with four of the markers coming before halftime. Sophomore Nick Sichak and senior Evan Lyon also tallied goals before the break, as the Tigers led 6-1 at the end of the first quarter.

The lone second-quarter goal occurred after an offside from the Township keeper crossing over midfield. As junior Spencer Risser attempted to run back to his crease, NA junior Sam Porter found a wide-open Sichak for his second of the game. The Tigers held a 7-1 lead at halftime.

Manheim Township notched the lone goal of the third quarter after North Allegheny’s offense held the ball for most of the frame. Junior Simon Bowen scored in the final seconds to cut the lead to five.

NA added a hat trick goal from Sichak and Lamark’s fifth of the contest in the early stages of the fourth quarter. Lamark was named Wright Automotive Player of the Game for his efforts and a six-point afternoon.

Junior goalkeeper Logan Lyle was credited with 12 saves in the contest, while sophomore Luke Rohan dominated faceoffs with eight wins from X. Senior Aidan Rabenstein had two ground balls and a pair of takeaways and senior Nick Palone distributed three assists.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 4-5 overall. The Tigers are back in section action on Wednesday night at home against North Hills. You can listen to that game live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
