Tigers Trip Up Tornado, 3-0
Having regained sole possession of first place in Section 2-AAA with their win over Fox Chapel on earlier in the week, the Tigers maintained their spot atop the section with a 3-0 triumph at Butler on Thursday night. North Allegheny claimed the match by set scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-15.
The Tigers battered Butler with the big swings of Seth Russell who collected a team-high 11 kills. Jason Stiefvater and Luke Visgitis tallied five kills apiece, while Eric Visgitis posted six kills and three blocks. Libero Danny Lebovitz notched a team-best six digs on defense and setter M.J. Barton handed out 26 assists.
North Allegheny sits at 8-2 overall and 8-1 in Section 2-AAA. Butler dips to 5-3 in section play. The third-ranked Tigers will visit No. 4 Norwin on Monday night.
