Tigers Trounce Trojans For Non-Section Win, 12-0

The top-ranked North Allegheny girls’ soccer team won its sixth consecutive game to begin the 2023 season with a 12-0 whitewash of the McDowell Trojans on Saturday afternoon at Newman Stadium. The Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead by halftime and cruised in the second half for the non-section.

Senior Abigail Stager started the onslaught with a goal just three minutes into the contest and the rout was on. Stager paced the offensive attack with four goals and freshman Kieran Shannon notched a hat trick. Single goals were scored by senior Jadyn Coy, senior Ally Ruiz, junior Tessa Duchi, senior Gracie Strzempek and senior Abby Lang.

The shutout is third straight for the North Allegheny defense, which has not allowed a goal in 419 consecutive minutes of game action.

For her three-goal effort, Shannon was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game by the North Allegheny Sports Network.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 6-0 overall on the season. The Tigers will return to section play on Monday night with a home date against the North Hills Indians. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
