Tigers Vanquish Norwin, 3-0
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team rolled to a non-section win at Norwin on Wednesday night, 3-0. The reigning WPIAL champions won by set scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23.
The cannon right arm of Canyon Tuman delivered a team-high 14 kills and senior Jason Stiefvater provided 11 kills to knockout Norwin. Alex Zubrow kept the Knights off balance with three aces and three blocks. Joining Zubrow with three blocks each were Tuman and Jeremiah Zemet. Defensively, Trevor Treser tallied a team-best 13 digs. Setter A.J. Schmidt collected 39 assists.
North Allegheny leaps to 10-0 overall with the victory. The Tigers will host Penn-Trafford on Monday night in a rematch of last year’s WPIAL championship match.
