Tigers Wallop Warriors, 3-0
Facing off against the reigning WPIAL champion Penn-Trafford Warriors, the North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team claimed a 3-0 road win on Monday night. The victory earned a measure of revenge for the Tigers, atoning for a loss to the Warriors in the PIAA quarterfinals last season. The Tigers picked up the victory by set scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-23.
North Allegheny peppered Penn-Trafford with plenty of big swings which included 10 kills apiece from Luke Visgitis, Canyon Tuman and Jake Barber. Visgitis clogged the middle with a team-best six blocks, while setter A.J. Schmidt tallied 36 assists. Schmidt and junior Josh Bachinsky collected 13 digs each on defense.
North Allegheny improves to 3-0 overall with the non-section win. The Tigers return to section action on Thursday night with a visit to Butler.
JV Update: NA won 2-0 (25-17, 25-13).
