Top-ranked Tigers Swat Seneca, 3-1
The North Allegheny Girls Volleyball Team collected a big section win on the road on Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over the Seneca Valley Raiders. The Lady Tigers earned win with set scores of 25-21, 19-25, 25-11 and 26-24.
Senior Ashley Leto powered NA with 14 kills, followed by Jamie Robatisin and Meg Morningstar who posted 10 kills apiece. Robatisin was the team leader in digs with 19, while libero Jessica Samuels collected 18 digs. Samuels kept the Raiders off balanced with her serves, producing five aces. Setter Beth Muhlenkamp collected a team-high 42 assists and knotched four aces as well.
Following the win, North Allegheny improves to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in Section 3-AAA. Seneca Valley drops to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in section play. The Lady Tigers have another major section clash on Thursday night when NA hosts Pine-Richland. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network. Game time is slated for 7:00 pm.
