BALDWIN ENDS NA RUN IN FINAL, 3-1

Coach Dan Schall's Lady Tigers made a great run to advance to the WPIAL finals at Plum High School on Thursday afternoon.  In the semifinals, the Lady Tigers outlasted the undefeated Hempfield Spartans, 3-2, in an exciting match.  NA was led by senior hitters Abby Tevis and Libby Burns, with junior Rachel Schillinger playing strong at the net defensively.

In the first game, the Tigers fell behind early, 9-4, before rallying.  Tevis' block gave NA its first lead, 12-11.  The Spartans came back to recapture the lead and pushed it to 18-14.  Behind the hitting of senior OH Katrina Stehle, the Spartans went on to win game one, 25-20.

In games two and three, the Tigers came back to win to move ahead in the match, 2-1.  In game two, Burns and senior OH Jeanne Miller picked up kills to give NA a 14-11 lead that they would not lose.  Down the stretch, Tevis picked up four points, on three kills and a block, to push the margin to 24-16.  With Tevis serving, Burns put away the game winner as NA won 25-16.  In the third game, the Lady Tigers fell behind, 8-2, before rallying to get back in the game.  Hempfield continued to lead for most of the contest before an ace by junior setter Cara Davies tied the score at 19-19.  With NA leading 24-22, it was Burns again that provided the winner with a big hit to give the Lady Tigers a hard-earned 25-22 come back win.

In game four, the Spartans led early before the Tigers came back to tie the contest at 13-13 behind a Schillinger block.  Hempfield regrouped, however, to pick up a 25-18 victory, sending the match to a fifth and deciding game.  In the final game, Hempfield once again jumped ahead early as they posted a 5-2 advantage.  With the score at 7-4, the Lady Tigers mounted a furious rally to take over the game and win the match.  After a Burns hit and a Spartan misplay tied at the game at 7-7, Tevis served out the match.  Burns had four big hits for kills and Tevis had two service aces as NA won, 15-7, to advance to the final.

Tevis had 18 kills, 17 digs, 19 perfect passes, and three service aces to lead in statistics.  Burns had 10 kills and eleven digs, Schillinger six blocks, Miller 13 digs and 15 passes, while Huber posted two service aces.  The junior setters had impressive stats with Davies picking up 22 assists and Posteraro 19, along with 10 digs.

In the championship match, the Lady Tigers took on a confident defending champion Baldwin team that had defeated Seneca Valley three straight to take their place in the final.  Game one was a classic!  The Lady Tigers built an early 6-4 lead behind the hitting of Tevis and Schillinger.  Sophomore Kim Jarzynka then went on a nine-point serving run as Baldwin took the lead, 13-6.  NA came back behind Schillinger, who picked up key points with a dink and a block as the Lady Tigers tied the game at 14-14.  After Baldwin took another lead, Schillinger ahead tied the game at 18-18 with a kill.  The teams went back and forth from this point, with the lead changing hands five times down the stretch.  Both teams had chances to win the game, but NA came through behind kills by Tevis and the game winner by Burns as the Lady Tigers captured a 31-29 victory in game one.

Trailing by a game, Baldwin was able to take an early lead in game two and never trailed in picking up a 25-15 win.  Strong hitting by senior Diana Andreyko and junior Anne Bemis dominated play at the net as the Lady Tigers could not contain the Highlanders.  In game three, it was more of the same.  NA hung in there early, with Tevis' cross court hit tying the game at 4-4.  From this point, Baldwin again took the lead and never looked back.  Good play by senior setter Tawyna Storino was responsible for most of the damage, with Storino setting the big hitters and picking up points with a clever left-handed tip.  Baldwin took a 2-1 lead in the match with a 25-15 victory.

In the fourth game, the Lady Tigers seemed to tire some, playing their ninth game of the day.  Baldwin quickly jumped off to a 5-2 lead.  Tevis had a pair of kills to keep NA in the game, but the strong hitting of Bemis and senior MH Brandi Sroka kept NA off balance as the Highlanders built the lead to 13-6.  The Lady Tigers never recovered, and Baldwin went on to a 25-14 victory and their second consecutive WPIAL title.

Tevis again led the statistics parade with 14 kills, 14 passes to target, and 9 digs.  Schillinger came through with eleven kills while Burns had six kills and seven digs.  Miller had 20 passes to target, along with six digs, while Huber added 15 perfect passes.  Posteraro posted 17 assists with Davies adding 12.

It was a great effort by the Lady Tigers as they captured the runner up spot in the WPIAL tournament.  For her clutch performance, Libby Burns was named the Player of the Day by the North Allegheny Sports Network.  NA has qualified for the PIAA tournament and will play next week.

SCRAPPY NORWIN FALLS TO LADY TIGERS IN THREE

To listen to a replay of the match, click here!

The Lady Tigers defeated a small but scrappy Norwin team, 3-0, in the WPIAL quarterfinals at Fox Chapel High School on Thursday night.  The NA front line was too much for the Knights as seniors Abby Tevis and Libby Burns, along with junior Rachel Schillinger, led the Lady Tigers to victory.

In game one, the Tigers jumped off to an early 5-2 lead as Schillinger registered a kill and Tevis a pair, behind the serving of Burns, who picked up a service ace.  Norwin cut the margin to 5-3 as 6-0 senior MH Shelley George stepped up for a kill.  Tevis had a kill and a block and junior setter Cara Davies served an ace to push the lead to 8-4.  Norwin came back, as they would all evening, to cut the lead to 8-6 before NA regrouped.  The Lady Tigers went on a 7-1 run with Tevis serving an ace and Burns blocking for a point.  NA extended the margin to 19-11 as Tevis and Burns had kills and Schillinger a block.  After Tevis served another ace to make it 22-13, Norwin scored four straight points behind the serving of junior DS Lindsay Weyman.  Burns finished off the Knights with a pair of kills to give the Lady Tigers a 25-19 win in game one.

In the second game, Norwin took control from the outset.  A series of good serves from senior DS Kelly Rovesti and senior setter Pam Deguffroy, along with a number of hitting errors by the Tigers, gave the Knights a 9-3 lead.  Norwin continued to take advantage of NA mistakes and pushed the lead to 19-12.  The Lady Tigers finally rallied behind senior OH Jeanne Miller, who picked up three kills, two hitting the back line.  After Schillinger's block cut the lead to 20-19, an NA hitting error made it 21-19.  Schillinger again brought the Tigers to within one point with a big kill.  A block by Schillinger and Tevis finally got the Lady Tigers even at 21.  George's block put Norwin ahead, but a blast from Tevis tied the game again.  After an NA serve into the net, Schillinger picked up yet another kill to make the score, 23-23.  Schillinger dropped back to serve and got a point on a Norwin misplay.  Tevis ended game two with another big hit, and NA had a 25-23 win in an exciting second game.

Norwin started strong in game three posting a 7-4 lead before Tevis hit off the Knight blockers cut it to 7-5.  With Davies serving, NA took an 8-7 lead behind a Tevis hit and an ace.  After Norwin tied the game at 8-8, the Lady Tigers took control.  Burns had a pair of kills and Tevis served three straight points, including an ace, to give NA a 13-8 advantage.  After the Tigers had pushed the lead to 15-11, Norwin came back again to make it 15-14 before Tevis was able to register another kill.  A Burns kill was offset by a dink by George, and NA led, 19-16.  Schillinger upped the lead to 20-16, but Norwin came back to cut it to 20-18.  After junior MH Julienne Moots blasted a ball through the Norwin defense for a point, Tevis served the final four, including two aces, to give NA a 25-18 win and the match.

On the statistical side, the Lady Tigers picked up eleven service aces, with Tevis leading the way with six.  Tevis also had 11 kills, 10 passes to target and 2 blocks.  Burns picked up six kills, 5 passes, and two service aces while Miller had eight digs and six passes.  Bozorg had eight digs with Posteraro coming up with six.

Norwin gave the Lady Tigers a battle all night with their ability to return many of the NA big hits.  When the game was on the line, however, the Tigers were able to score points and pick up the victory.  For her leadership and hitting, the North Allegheny Sports Network selected Abby Tevis as the Player of the Game.

NA will play Hempfield in the semifinals at Plum High School tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 pm.  Hempfield knocked off Pine-Richland, 3-2, in the quarterfinals.  The North Allegheny Sports Network will be there to broadcast the match LIVE on the internet beginning at 2:50 pm.   Be sure to join Don Vandergrift and Jordan Dee for all the action, live or archived, as NA goes for the WPIAL title.

LADY TIGERS CRUISE OVER PENN HILLS, 3-0, IN WPIAL OPENER

To listen to a replay of the match, click here!

The Lady Tigers opened their quest for a WPIAL championship with a 3-0 victory over Penn Hills at the Senior High gym on Tuesday night.  The NA front line, led by senior OH Abby Tevis, dominated play at the net as the Tigers downed the Lady Indians, 25-9, 25-15, and 25-15.

In the first game, the Lady Tigers took control from the start building a 9-3 early lead.  Strong play by Tevis, with three kills, junior MH Rachel Schillinger, with two blocks and a kill, gave an indication of things to come.  Tevis continued her domination with two more kills and three service aces as NA extended the margin to 19-5.  During the run, senior MH Libby Burns and junior Julienne Moots picked up kills.  After Penn Hills cut the lead to 20-9, Burns had a pair of kills, junior setter Amanda Posteraro served a pair of aces, and Schillinger put the Indians away with a block as NA won game one, 25-9.

In game two, Penn Hills kept the game close until the Lady Tigers were able to break it open.  In the early going, the Indians took advantage of Tiger misplays to tie the score at 8-8.  Tevis gave NA the lead, and Burns blasted a hard shot down the middle to push the advantage to 10-8.  A Tevis ace, a block by Moots and a kill by Burns extended the lead to 13-10.  Schillinger then took over with roof, a kill, and a block as the Tigers built a 16-12 lead.  NA  went on a 9-3 run to put game two away.  Senior Taryn Bozorg served an ace before junior Cara Davies came in to serve four straight points, including two service aces.  Finally, after Burns slammed down a block, Penn Hills could not return Tevis' serve and the Lady Tigers had won the second game, 25-15.

In the third and final game, the Lady Tigers took control early.  NA built a 5-2 lead behind a Tevis kill, a service ace by senior OH Jeanne Miller, and three PH misplays.  With the score 5-4, Davies served up seven straight points.  Burns had two kills, Moots a kill and a block and Tevis a kill as NA extended the margin to 13-4.  Moots added a kill and Tevis another service ace to push the lead to 16-6.  Penn Hills came back behind the serving of junior Beth Dering and the hitting of junior OH Courtney Yon to cut the lead to 16-10.  Senior DS Emily Huber then served three straight points, including two aces, to extend the lead to 20-10.  The Lady Indians were able to crawl back to 22-14 before NA finished the match.  Miller served an ace to complete the three-game sweep with NA winning the third game, 25-15.

It was a dominating performance by the Lady Tigers.  Penn Hills continually had difficulty returned the hard NA serves as the Lady Tigers picked up fourteen service aces.  For her performance, the North Allegheny Sports Network selected Abby Tevis as the Player of the Game.

Tevis dominated the match statistics with 10 kills, 4 passes to target, 5 service aces and 3 digs.  Burns had nine kills and 3 perfect passes to target, Moots added four kills and 2 blocks, while Miller picked up four digs and three passes.  Schillinger had five kills, Huber five passes, and the junior setters, Posteraro and Davies, had two service aces each.

The Lady Tigers will move into the quarterfinals tonight against Norwin.  Match time is set for 7:30 pm at Fox Chapel High School.  The North Allegheny Sports Network will be there to broadcast the match LIVE on the internet.    The semifinals and finals will be held at Plum High School  on Saturday, November 1.

LADY TIGERS BEAT PINE-RICHLAND, 3-1, TO WIN SECTION CROWN

Coach Dan Schall's Lady Tigers defeated Pine-Richland, 3-1, at the Pine-Richland gym on Thursday night to capture the Section 3 title.  NA won the first game, 25-22, lost the second, 25-14, and then came back to win the next two, 25-22 and 25-19.  The win was the second over the Rams this year.

It was a team victory.  Once again, good passing by NA set up numerous hitting attempts by the Tiger front line.  Junior Amanda Posteraro had 15 assists and junior Cara Davies added nine as NA piled up 26 assists.  Taking advantage of the sets, seniors Abby Tevis and Libby Burns blasted eleven kills each with junior Rachel Schillinger adding six more.

Defensively, the Lady Tigers answered all Ram challenges.  The Lady Tigers had 17 blocks, with Tevis picking up three solo blocks, and Burns and Schillinger a part of five.  The NA defense recorded 41 digs with Tevis leading the way with eleven.  Burns had eight, senior Jeanne Miller seven, and senior Emily Huber and Davies with six each.  Miller and Posteraro had four service aces each.

LADY TIGERS SWEEP HAMPTON ON SENIOR NIGHT

The Lady Tigers honored their seven seniors on Tuesday night at the Senior High gym, and then defeated Hampton, 3-0, in a section match.  Seniors played a major role in the victory as NA controlled the net behind the play of Libby Burns, Abby Tevis, and Jeanne Miller.  DS Emily Huber made a number of diving digs to keep balls in play for the Tigers.  Junior Rachel Schillinger played well in the front line and junior Amanda Posteraro was on target with sets for most of the evening as she collected 19 assists.

In game one, Schillinger got the Lady Tigers off and running with two kills and a block as NA took a 3-0 lead.  Miller unleashed a jump serve to pick up three aces in a 6-0 Tiger run.  After Hampton came back to cut the lead to 12-6, Burns, junior MH Julienne Moots, and senior Juliet Nellis posted kills to push the lead to 15-6.  Posteraro then took over the serve, picking up eight straight points, including a pair of aces.  Burns with a kill and block, senior OH Taryn Bozorg a kill, and Schillinger another kill as NA extended the margin to 22-7.  With senior DS Brady Bennardo serving,  Bozorg finished the job with a cross court hit, and NA had won the first game, 25-10.

In the second game, the Lady Tigers once again jumped off to a lead.  After Bozorg's kill tied the game at 1-1, Miller went to the jump serve, earning six straight points, including an ace.  During the run, Burns had a kill and a block, while Huber also posted a kill.  After Hampton's sophomore OH Emily Speer scored twice on kills to cut the lead to 7-3, it was Burns, Schillinger, and Tevis with big hits to push the margin to 12-4.  With Tevis serving, Miller had a pair of kills, Schillinger blasted a kill down the line, and Hampton committed several hitting errors as the lead went to 18-9.  Posteraro served five more points as NA moved to within one of game point at 24-11.  Burns finished off the Talbots with a tip into open space as NA won game two, 25-11.

In the final game, the Talbots made it close early.  Strong play by senior MH Jen Mall and junior OH Katie Kuhn brought Hampton to within two points at 7-5.  Bozorg served two aces, Miller had a kill, and Tevis smashed a strong hit down the middle to push the lead to 12-6.  Hampton came back behind the serving of sophomore DS Emily Martin, who had two aces, and the hitting of Mall and Kuhn to cut the lead to 14-11.  At this point, the Lady Tigers took over the game.  Posteraro served an ace, junior Caitlin Krepp found an open space for a kill, and junior opposite Kelly Scherer posted a kill as the NA lead went to 18-12.  Tevis controlled the remainder of the game, picking up points on a cross-court hit, a block that she roofed, and a strong hit off the Hampton blockers as the lead went to 23-15.  Tevis ended the Talbots' night with two more strong hits giving NA a 25-17 victory in game three.

Statistically, Tevis had eight kills and seven passes to target, Burns had four kills (and a team high 15 swings) along with 3 passes, Bozorg added six kills and Schillinger posted seven kills.  Miller and Posteraro had four service aces with Huber coming up with seven passes and four digs, all spectacular!

It was a strong showing by the Lady Tigers as they prepare for the match of the year tomorrow night at Pine-Richland.  For her efforts, the North Allegheny Sports Network selected senior Libby Burns as the Player of the Game.  NA will face the Rams for the section title as both teams enter the match with a section record of 12-1.  Match time is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Pine-Richland.

HUBER ACES NORTH HILLS AS LADY TIGERS WIN, 3-0

To listen to a replay of the match, click here!

Senior DS Emily Huber unleashed a devastating jump serve on her way to 11 service aces as the Lady Tigers cruised to a 3-0 victory over archrival North Hills at the Senior High gym on Thursday night.  NA won the first game, 25-8, the second, 25-11, and wrapped things up with a 25-13 win in the third and final game.

In game one, the tone was set when the Lady Tigers jumped off to a 7-0 lead before North Hills could score a point.  Kills by junior MH Rachel Schillinger, senior OH Abby Tevis and senior OH Jeanne Miller, backed up the serving of senior MH Libby Burns, who served six straight points, including a pair of aces.  The Indians came back to cut the margin to 7-3 behind two kills from junior Diana Alberti.  NA came back to push the lead back to 12-4 as NH made several misplays, and Tevis was able to roof an intended Indian set.  Junior Julienne Moots came off the bench to pick up a kill, Burns added another, and senior Taryn Bozorg earned a point with a kill  to extend the Tiger lead to 15-7.

At this point, Huber began the first of two long serving runs in the match.  The Tiger senior scored six straight points, including a run of three straight aces, two from the jump serve to give NA a 21-8 advantage.  After another Burns' kill and several NH misplays, Schillinger and Burns teamed up to block an Indian attempt, and the Tigers had a 25-11 win in the first game.

In the second game,  the Tigers once again jumped off to an early lead.  With junior setter Lauren Posteraro serving, two blocks by Schillinger and a kill by Miller put NA up 5-0.  After North Hills came back to cut the lead to 6-3, the Lady Tigers went on a 8-2 run behind the hitting of Burns and several hitting errors by the Indians.  With the score 19-11, Huber took over the serve and picked up six straight service aces to put away North Hills in game two.  The Lady Tigers led, two games to none, after the 25-11 victory.

Game three featured much of the same, although Coach Dan Schall gave some additional NA players a chance to play.  After junior OH/DS Tammi Nappi picked up a kill to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead, Nappi then served five straight points, including an ace, with Tevis and junior OH Kelly Scherer picking up kills.  After junior OH Katie Elmore made it 7-1 with a kill, the Indians came back to score five straight points to cut the margin to 7-6.  It was the closest the Indians would get.  Junior setter Cara Davies served a pair of points, including an ace, and Moots' kill extended the lead to 10-7.  Junior Caitlin Krepp came in to serve and picked up four points, including a kill by Nappi as the lead went to 14-7.   After Tevis' kill made it 17-10, junior Morgan Fitzgerald served three straight aces to push the advantage to 20-10.  Samantha Santa then served two aces to bring NH back to 20-13.  A block by Elmore and Moots and a kill by Moots put the Lady Tigers at game and match point.  The Indians were called for going under the net after Tevis' serve, and the Lady Tigers had won game three, 25-13, and the match, three games to none.

On the statistical side, the Lady Tigers had 19 service aces, led by Huber's 11.  Tevis and Burns had five kills each, while Schillinger and Scherer had a pair of blocks each.  Posteraro had ten assists and Davies picked up seven.  Huber also added five perfect passes to target.

It was a good effort by the Lady Tigers against a struggling North Hills squad.  Coach Schall had an opportunity to give a number of players a chance for varsity game experience.  The win improved the NA section mark to 11-1 and the overall record to 12-2.  With Pine-Richlands' 3-1 victory over Seneca Valley last night, the Lady Tigers and Rams remain tied for first place heading into their meeting at Pine-Richland next week.

For her serving efforts, the North Allegheny Sports Network selected Emily Huber as the Player of the Game.  NA will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Hampton at the Senior High gym on Senior Night.  The North Allegheny Sports Network will be there to broadcast the match LIVE on the internet beginning with the pre-game show at 7:00 pm.

TEVIS LEADS LADY TIGERS OVER SENECA VALLEY, 3-2

Note: Some of the statistics used in the article were in error.  Corrections have been made and highlighted in red!

Senior OH Abby Tevis led NA to a 3-2 victory at Seneca Valley on Tuesday night as the Lady Tigers avenged an earlier loss to the Raiders.  In a match that went back and forth all night, the Tigers lost the first game, won the next two, lost the fourth, and prevailed in the fifth and final game, 15-6.

Tevis posted great numbers in all statistical categories.  The Tiger senior had four blocks, 25 kills, 18 passes to target, three serving aces and 7 digs.  Also stepping up were senior OH Jeanne Miller with 8 passes to target and 10 digs, and senior DS Cara Davies with nine digs and three aces.  Senior middle hitter Libby Burns had 17 kills and 9 digs while junior MHs Rachel Schillinger had eight kills and three blocks, and Julienne Moots had three blocks each.

It was a great team effort, particularly on defense.  The Lady Tigers came up with 56 digs against a very good Seneca team.  Offensively, the passing game and good serving proved to be the difference.  NA recorded 44 perfect passes to target in addition to earning nine service aces.

The win keeps the Lady Tigers in a first-place tie with Pine-Richland who defeated Shaler, 3-1, last night.  NA will host Erie McDowell tonight in a non-section match at the Senior High.  Match time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

SHALER FALLS TO NA IN THREE GAMES

To listen to a replay of the match, click here!

The Lady Tigers rebounded from last night's non-section loss to overwhelm Shaler in three games at the Senior High gym on Tuesday night.  NA downed the Titans 25-10, 25-16, and 25-8 to win easily.  The tall Tiger front line controlled the net as NA took the lead early in all three games.  Strong play by seniors Abby Tevis and Libby Burns, along with juniors Rachel Schillinger and Julienne Moots, kept the smaller Titans under control.

In game one, the Lady Tigers jumped off to a 5-1 lead behind kills by senior Jeanne Miller and Tevis, along with a kill by Tevis.  After Shaler had cut the margin to 7-4, Moots' blast made it 8-4.  At this point, Tevis took over serving duties and picked up ten straight points, including a pair of aces.  Moots had two kills and a block while Burns picked up a kill during the run.  The run continued as Burns had two more kills and Schillinger a block as junior Amanda Posteraro setter served three points, including an ace, to push the NA lead to 21-6.  After Shaler took advantage of several Tiger mistakes to cut the margin to 23-10, the Lady Tigers put the game away on a Shaler hitting error and a Tevis kill.  NA won the first game, 25-10.

In the second game, it was more of the same as the Lady Tigers built a 16-3 advantage.  Senior Taryn Bozorg came off the NA bench to serve nine straight points, including a pair of aces.  Schillinger and Tevis did most of the damage.  Junior Cara Davies stepped behind the back line to serve a pair of aces before the Titans went on a mini-run to make it 19-11.  Senior DS Emily Huber served an ace and a point, but it was a series of Shaler errors down the stretch that finished the Titans as the Lady Tigers won game two, 25-16.

In the third game, it was no contest.  NA outscored the Titans, 10-2, in the early going and never looked back.  Strong play by Bozorg, who served five more points including another ace, along with the serving of senior DS Brady Bennardo were big during the run.  Schillinger stepped up during the run to dominate the net.  After Tevis dropped in a dink to make it 12-4, Huber served six straight points with a pair of aces included to push the lead to 19-5.  After Shaler cut the lead to 22-8, junior OH Katie Elmore served three straight points and Schillinger had a block and a kill to finish off the Titans, 23-8, in the third and final game.

Tevis had nine kills with Schillinger adding 7 and Burns 5.  In passing stats, Tevis had six perfect passes to target, Huber had 5, and Bozorg four.  The Lady Tigers had a total of thirteen service aces with Bozorg picking up four and Huber three.

The Lady Tigers dominated Shaler as they picked up their eighth win against one loss in section play.  NA had thirteen service aces during the three games.  Because of her serving (fourteen points and four aces), the North Allegheny Sports Network selected senior Taryn Bozorg as the Player of the Game.  NA will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host Butler in a section match at 3:30 pm.  The match has been moved up to the afternoon because of Open House at the Senior High tomorrow night.

FOURTH PLACE FINISH FOR LADY TIGERS IN PINE-RICHLAND TOURNAMENT

NEW VOLLEYBALL SEASON STARTS WITH NEW RULES

In summary, the new rules will change scoring, net serves, defensive touches on the first serve, and substitution.

  • Rally scoring - a point is awarded on every play.

  • Serves - a serve is in play even if it hits the net.

  • First serves - players will be allowed to double-hit the ball or use an open hand on all first touches

  • Substitutions - a return to the limit of 18 substitutions per game

Most coaches seem to support the rule changes with the exception of the limited substitution rule.  In the case of the other changes, fans should look forward to shorter matches, less stoppages of play, and strange scores.  With rally scoring, games will be won at 25 points, with the exception of a deciding game which will go to 15.  We will have the reaction of Coach Schall to the changes when we get a chance to talk to him.

The Lady Tigers will be trying to win the section which has eluded them the past several years.  Pine Richland has been the dominant team with NA second.  Last year, the Lady Tigers were second in section with a 12-2 mark.  In the playoffs, NA defeated Plum in the first round but lost to Pine Richland in the quarterfinals.  Their final record was 13-3 with all three losses coming at the hands of the Rams.
