CLAIR WINS 11TH STRAIGHT WPIAL CHAMPIONSHIP; LADY TIGERS FINISH THIRD Coach Joe Bullick's Lady Tigers claimed third place at the WPIAL Championship on Thursday at the Cedarbrook/Red Golf Course in Belle Vernon. Senior Lauren Lancia shot a 92 to pace NA while sophomore Katherine Larimer posted a 99. Upper St. Clair totaled 344 to win their 11th consecutive championship. Their last loss was to North Allegheny! The Tigers recorded a 408 to finish in third behind USC and Peters Township. CONGRATULATIONS TO COACH BULLICK AND THE LADY TIGERS! WPIAL GIRLS'

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * SENECA VALLEY FINAL VICTIM FOR LADY TIGERS, 191-205 In a match postponed from last week, the Lady Tigers downed Seneca Valley, 191-205, at Seneca on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Lauren Lancia again led the way with a 43 while sophomore Katherine Larimer shot a 48. Lauren Torso was the medallist for Seneca posting a 42. The win gave NA a final record of 16-1 good for a tie for first place in section play. The section co-champions will play in the WPIAL finals this morning at Cedarbrook/Red Golf Course in Belle Vernon. Tee off time is set for 10:00 am. MATCH SUMMARY

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * LANCIA FINISHES 13TH IN WPIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Senior Lauren Lancia shot a 91 to finish in a tie for 13th at the WPIAL Individual Championships at Nemacolin Woodlands Golf Course on Monday. The top eight golfers qualified for the PIAA tournament later in the month. The Lady Tigers team will be back in action again tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Seneca Valley for the final section match of the season. Tee off time is scheduled for 3:30 pm as the Tigers try for the section championship. WPIAL

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS AMBUSH AMBRIDGE, 199-236 Coach Joe Bullick's Lady Tigers ran their record to 15-1 with a 199-236 victory over Ambridge at Venango Trail Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Lauren Lancia led the way with a 45 with sophomore Katherine Larimer one stroke behind at 46. Kara Hochevar from Ambridge was match medallist with a 44. The Lady Tigers will be on the road this afternoon when they travel to Franklin Regional to meet the Panthers in a non-section match. Tee off time is scheduled for 3:00 pm. MATCH SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * ELLWOOD CITY FALLS TO LADY TIGERS, 204-214 Led by sophomore Katherine Larimer's 46, the Lady Tigers defeated Ellwood City, 204-214, at Venango Trail Golf Course on Monday afternoon. Senior Lauren Lancia and sophomore Jennifer Snyder posted 50s as the Lady Tigers increased their record to 14-1 on the season. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for NA and improved their record to 12-1. The Lady Tigers will be in action again tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Pine-Richland for a section match. The starting time is scheduled for 3:00 pm. The section qualifier will be held today at Blackhawk Country Club beginning at 10:00 am. The Lady Tigers will send their top four golfers to the event. Senior Lauren Lancia recorded a 42 to earn medallist honors and lead NA to the victory. Sophomore Katherine Larimer posted a 46 to help the Lady Tigers improve their season record to 11-1 on the season. The Lady Tigers were led by sophomore Katherine Larimer who posted a 44. Jen Mohr shot a 45 to pace Ellwood City. The non-section win improved the NA overall record to 8-1 on the season. The Lady Tigers will be back in action this afternoon when they host the Seneca Valley Raiders in a section match at Venango Trail Golf Course. Match time is set for 3:30 pm. * * * * * * * * * * * * AMBRIDGE FALLS TO LADY TIGERS, 206-243 Coach Joe Bullick's Lady Tigers got back on the winning track with a 206-243 victory at Ambridge on Monday afternoon. Senior Lauren Lancia earned medallist honors with a 45 to pace NA to the win. The Lady Tigers will be back in action again this afternoon when they travel to Ellwood City for a 3:00 pm non-section match. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * CENTER HANDS LADY TIGERS FIRST LOSS The Center Trojans defeated the Lady Tigers, 187-210, at Center on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore Katherine Larimer shot a 47 to claim medallist honors for NA. Kristi Archer posted a 40 to lead Center to the victory. Senior Lauren Lancia was second for NA with a 48. The loss was the first for the Lady Tigers and dropped their overall record to 6-1 NA will travel to Ellwood City next Wednesday for a section match. The scheduled starting time is 3:00 pm. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WPIAL GIRLS' GOLF - 2004 The Lady Tigers will compete again in the WPIAL, along with 22 other teams. The top two (2) teams and ties will enter the team championship on October 21, 2004. If two teams tie for second place but one of the teams has lost both head to head contests, that team will not enter the tournament round. Three way ties will be broken in the following manner: 1. Section records of the
tied teams will be compiled. The format for girls' golf is a team comprised of five golfers who play for a combined team total medal score for the day. Only the top four scores will count to determine the team winner for the match. This format is in effect for all team matches. In case of a tie in total medal score, the medallist for both teams will play "sudden death" extra holes. If there are co-medallists on either team, the coach will select one of them to compete in the tie-breaker. INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS The WPIAL individual championships will begin with a sectional qualifying tournament comprised of four (4) players from each section team. Each sectional qualifier will be hosted at one of the section courses. The 2004 sectional qualifiers have been scheduled for Wednesday, September 29, 2004. The top nine (9) players from each sectional tournament will advance to the individual championship round. The individual championship round will consist of twenty-seven (27) contestants - the top nine (9) from each of the three (3) sectional tournaments. The final round will be held on will be held on Monday, October 11, 2004 at a course to be designated. The top eight (8) contestants from the WPIAL Final Round will qualify for the PIAA Championship Tournament to be held at Heritage Hills Golf Course on October 25-26, 2004.
