LADY TIGERS WIN TWO AT NORTH HILLS PAYDAY

TEAM CAPTAINS

The Lady Tigers rebounded from a tough one-goal loss to Pine-Richland on Thursday to win two games at the North Hills Playday on Saturday.  NA defeated host North Hills, 10-2, in the first game and Seneca Valley, 9-2, in game two.  The North Hills Playday is in its third year and is played in honor of two NH lacrosse players, Brandy Hartman and Grant Rava who lost their lives in an October 25, 2002, car accident while returning from a college visit.

In the first game, the Lady Tigers jumped off to a 6-1 halftime lead thanks to three goals by sophomore Strealy Clark, and single tallies by sophomore Chelsea Cameron, junior Whitney Wilson, and senior Lara Siminerio.  NA increased the lead in the second half as they outscored the Indians, 4-1, on their way to the 10-2 triumph.  Cameron scored her second goal, while sophomore Dana Spellman, sophomore Alexa Jennings, and senior Laura Seward added single goals.  Senior goalie Amanda Chipman stopped 7 of nine North Hills shots to earn the victory.

in game two, NA opened a 6-0 lead by halftime to gain control of the contest.  Senior Meghan Coleman and Strealy Clark scored two goals each with junior Elise Moore and senior Laura Peery adding a goal each.  In the second half, Wilson, Peery, and Cameron all scored as the Lady Tigers went on to a convincing 9-2 victory.  Chipman stopped five of seven Raider shots to preserve the win.

It was a big day for the Lady Tigers who were coming off a tough loss to Pine-Richland that Head Coach Harry Datz said "felt more like a win that any other game we have played.  The team came together last Thursday and proved that they can play with the best teams in the league."  The two wins improved the NA record to 3-5 on the season.  The Lady Tigers will be back in action again on Tuesday night when they travel to Shaler for a 7:00 pm contest.
