MEET SUMMARIES
TIGER TEAMS TAKE THIRD PLACES AT
CARLISLE
INVITATIONAL
Both the boys and girls' teams finished in third place against some of the top competition in the state in the prestigious Carlisle Invitational on Saturday. Junior Ryan Gil came in fifth while senior Eric Balaban was 24th to lead the Tigers to bronze behind LaSalle College High School and Altoona. Senior Luke Badaczewski was 39th and senior Jay Cadwallader 44th for the Tigers.
Freshman Alex Gambill was fourth and junior Eleni Mermigas was 22nd as they paced NA to third place between Academy of Notre Dame and Emmaus. Sophomore Lizzie Appleton captured 24th and freshman Gabrielle Borza 37th for the Lady Tigers.
The Tiger teams will travel to Seneca Valley along with North Hills on Tuesday afternoon for a tri section meet. The scheduled starting time is set for 3:30 pm.

TIGER TEAMS TAKE CARE OF PINE-RICHLAND
AND HAMPTON
Both Tiger teams were victorious over Pine-Richland and Hampton in a section tri-meet at the Intermediate High School on Tuesday afternoon. The boys shut out both the Rams and Talbots by the same 15-50 score while the Lady Tigers defeated Pine-Richland, 23-36, and Hampton, 20-43.
For the boys' team, the first eight runners to cross the finish line were from North Allegheny. Junior Ryan Gil was first followed by senior Eric Balaban in second place with senior Luke Badaczewski. Senior Jay Cadwallader took the fourth place with senior Mike Smolinski in fifth. Although they did not pick up team points, junior Nick Minich was sixth, freshman Mike Meehan was seventh and junior Joe Pane eighth before Ryan O'Dowd of Pine-Richland finished. NA junior Richard Gayler finished in 10th place.
The girls' race was more competitive with Elaina Balourous of Hampton coming in first by a wide margin. Freshman Alex Gambill led NA with a second place finish with junior Ali Greco fifth and junior Eleni Mermigas in sixth. Sophomore Shannon Wagner was seventh and junior Halley Bayer eighth to complete the NA scoring. Freshman Kim Goehring of NA finished in 10th place.
Next up for the Tiger teams will be the Carlisle Invitational on Saturday morning. Included in the field will be a number of top teams from central and eastern Pennsylvania. The scheduled starting time for the meet is 10:00 am.

TIGER TEAMS OPEN SECTION WITH TWIN
WINS
AT KNOCH
Both the boys and girls' teams got off to a successful start in section competition with victories at Knoch on Tuesday afternoon. The boys downed the Knights, 15-50, with three NA runners crossing the line in a tie for first. Seniors Luke Badaczewski and Eric Balaban, along with junior Ryan Gil, led the Tigers to the win with the first place finishes.
Freshman Alex Gambill outraced all runners to take first and pace the Lady Tigers to a 19-44 victory over Knoch. Sophomore Lizzie Appleton was third and junior Halley Bayer was fourth for the winning Lady Tigers.
Next up for the Tiger teams will be a home section meet next Tuesday against Hampton and Pine-Richland. The scheduled starting time at the NAI course is set for 3:30 pm.

TIGER BOYS SECOND, GIRLS FOURTH AT RED,
WHITE AND BLUE INVITATIONAL
Junior Ryan Gil finished in third place to lead the Tigers to a second place team finish behind Baldwin in the Annual Red, White, and Blue Invitational at Schenley Oval on Saturday morning. Freshman Alex Gambill came in ninth to pace the Lady Tigers to a fourth place in the girls' competiton.
For the boys, senior Eric Balaban came in 12th, senior Jay Cadwallader 20th, junior Nick Minich 22nd and senior Luke Badaczewski 24th as the Tiger totaled 81 points to fall just short of Baldwin's 69. For the Lady Tigers, junior Ali Greco finished in 37th place, junior Eleni Mermigas 40th, sophomore Lizzie Appleton 41st, and freshman Gabrielle Borza 42nd. NA finished in 4th place with 169 points. Norwin was first, Osbourn Park second, and North Hills third.
The Tiger teams will begin section competition on Tuesday when they travel to Knoch for a 3:30 pm section meet.
JV UPDATE: Both the girls and boys' teams finished first in the Red, White and Blue Invitational. For the girls, sophomore Beth Hartigan was first and freshman Carly Fox was second. For the boys, junior Richard Gayler captured first with sophomore Joey Franze third and sophomore Nate Badaczewski fourth.
