Courtenay Carrel - Varsity Head Coach During Courtenay’s first Two years of coaching at NA, our athletes earned a bid to the Universal Cheer Association’s (UCA) National Competition in Florida. Courtenay brought over 10 years of experience to the North Allegheny cheerleading program including: coach, choreographer, judge, camp instructor, tournament director, and state director for the Northeast Region for Universal Cheer Association (UCA). Her safety experience and certifications include: American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA) Safety Certifier and Judge’s Course Administrator as well as the United States Gymnastics Association (USGA) training in gymnastics progression and spotting techniques. Kami Yurisinec – Varsity Coach In addition to teaching at Marshall Middle School, Kami is in her third year coaching of North Allegheny’s JV squad. Our athletes have grown with her coaching. In fact, last year’s squad earned a bid to the UCA National Competition. After ranking nationally during her own collegiate cheerleading experience, she expanded her skills to include judging competitions, choreography, and training. Kami was a camp counselor and head instructor during her three years with the Universal Cheerleading Association. Dana Thomas – Varsity Head Coach and Tumbling Coach for Middle School – Varsity Dana has 13 years of cheerleading tumbling coaching experience, 9 with the NA cheerleading program. Dana also coaches for local all-star cheerleading organizations. Her United States Gymnastics Safety Certification enables our athletes to progress to their full potential in a safe environment. Lynsi Renwick - JV Coach In addition to coaching the JV cheerleading squad, Lynsi Renwick is an 8th grade math teacher at Ingomar Middle School. She has recently completed her 6th year as a cheerleading camp instructor for the UniversalCheer Association (UCA). Through UCA, she has also judged local, state, and regional competitions for both high school and all-star cheerleading divisions. She is certified by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA). Lynsi was also a member and captain of the Penn State Cheerleading team and the nationally ranked squad from Butler High School.
