Photo Courtesy of Charlie Neely TIGER BOYS FINISH FOURTH IN WESTERN REGIONAL The Tiger boys finished in fourth place in the Western District High School boys' qualifier at the North Versailles Bowling Center on Saturday. Junior Kevin Koleck led the way with a six game series total of 1254 (209.0 avg) with senior Mike Guernsey next with a 1213 series. Senior Mike Steinbeck added a 1179 series for NA. Koleck posted the individual high for the Tigers with a 244 while Guernsey rolled a 241 high game. Greensburg Salem was first, East Allegheny second and Woodland Hills third. The Lady Tigers finished in 15th place in the girls' competition. Junior Maria Frantz led the way with a series total of 982 (163.7 avg) with freshman Chelsea Weber next with a series total of 966. Frantz recorded a 207 for the individual game high for NA. Hempfield won the competition with Plum second and Penn Hills third. WESTERN DISTRICT TEAM SCORES - BOYS

Senior Dan Schulties was the top NA boys' qualifier in the Western District Individual competition on Friday at the North Versailles Bowling Center. Schulties finished in 37th place with a total of 1069 for six games. Senior Mike Guernsey came in 58th while senior Justin Thomson was 65th. For the Lady Tigers, junior Maria Frantz was 33rd with a series total of 972 for six games. Freshman Ryanne Tyler placed 60th in the competition. WESTERN DISTRICT - BOYS INDIVIDUAL

11TH IN The Lady Tigers completed their season with an 11th place finish in the WPIBL Championship at Sims Lanes on Thursday afternoon. Hempfield placed first, Penn Hills second and Plum third in the competition. Three boys and two girls will represent NA at the Regional Championships next weekend. Seniors Dan Schulties, Justin Thomson, and Mike Guersey will be in the boys' competition while junior Maria Frantz and freshman Ryanne Tyler will be in the girls' event. The regional competition will be held at North Versailles Bowl on Friday and Saturday. WPIBL GIRLS' TOURNAMENT

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS DOWN NORTH HILLS, 5-0, IN FIRST ROUND OF WPIBL PLAYOFFS The Lady Tigers captured a 5-0 decision over rival North Hills in the first round of the WPIBL Playoffs at the Perry Park Lanes on Thursday afternoon. With the win, NA advanced to the Second Round to be held next Thursday at a neutral site. The Lady Tigers improved to 8-3 on the season with the victory. The boys' team dropped a close 4-3 decision to Beaver Falls in the First Round of the tournament. WPIBL BOYS' TOURNAMENT

HILLS, The Tiger teams won both matches against North Hills on Monday afternoon at the Perry Park Lanes. The boys shut out the Indians, 7-0, while the Lady Tigers took a 5-2 decision. On Wednesday afternoon at the Perry Park Lanes, the girls' downed Rochester, 7-0, while the boys dropped a 5-2 decision to the Rams. Both teams finished with records of 7-3, but the Lady Tigers finished in second place and the boys in third. In the WPIBL playoffs next week, the boys will travel to Beaver Falls on Wednesday afternoon for a 3:30 pm match. On Thursday, the girls will host North Hills at the Perry Park Lanes in a 3:30 pm playoff match. Winners will advance to the section finals next week. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS TAKE TWO FROM NORTHGATE Both Tiger teams were victorious over Northgate by 7-0 scores in matches at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. Leading the way for the Lady Tigers was junior Maria Frantz with a 509 series followed by sophomore Meredith Michalojko with a 441, freshman Ryanne Tyler a 410 and freshman Chelsea Weber a 407. In individual scores, Frantz posted a 180, Weber a 170, Frantz a 168 and Michalojko a 165. For the boys, senior Dan Schulties paced NA with a 631 series including games of 215, 211, and 205. Seniors Justin Thomson and Mike Guersey followed with series totals of 569 each. Guersey rolled a 226 and Thomson a 214 for the winning Tigers. The boys' team improved to 6-2 on the season while the Lady Tiger record went to 5-3. The Tiger teams will host North Hills at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon with match time set for 3:30 pm. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS SPLIT WITH AMBRIDGE The Tiger teams traveled to the Baden Bowl on Wednesday afternoon and finished with a win and a loss against the Ambridge Bridgers. The boys' team downed the Bridgers, 5-2, while the Lady Tigers were defeated by Ambridge, 7-0. Freshman Ryanne Tyler led NA with a 482 series with junior Maria Frantz recording a 456 and sophomore Meredith Michalojko a 434. Frantz had the individual game high with a 169 with Tyler rolling a 166 and 159. Senior Dan Schulties led the boys with a 699 total with a high game of 279. Both were section highs for the week. Senior Mike Guernsey followed with a 603 series with senior Chris Sinagra next with a 585. Schulties also rolled a 236 game with Guernsey posting a 219 and 203 while Sinagra had games of 209 and 207. Senior Justin Thomson also recorded a 203 in the third game. With the win, the boys' record improved to 5-2 while the Lady Tigers fell to 4-3 on the season. The Tiger teams will host Northgate on Wednesday afternoon at the Perry Park Lanes with match time set for 3:30 pm. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * BEAVER FALLS STOPS TIGER TEAMS Both Tiger teams dropped matches to Beaver Falls at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Tigers were edged, 4-3, while the boys' team dropped a 5-2 decision. Junior Maria Frantz led the Lady Tigers with a series total of 471 and an NA high game of 170. Senior Beth Davis added a 395 series. For the boys, senior Justin Thomson led with a 634 series including games of 227 and 210 with junior Kevin Koleck rolling a 617 series with games of 226 and 201. Senior Dan Schulties added a 607 series and a 224 while senior Chris Sinagra had a pair of 204 games for NA. With the losses, both teams dropped to 4-2 in league play. The Tiger teams will travel to the Baden Bowling Lanes on Wednesday afternoon to meet Ambridge. The starting time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH
