NA CHEERLEADING BOOSTER MEETING

NOVEMBER 19, 2008

I.                    Approval of Minutes - JoAnn Vandergrift.  Seconded by Linda Leo.

II.                 Old Business

a.       Coat Drive - Linda Leo.   JV arrived at 6:00.  They collected two coats and were there for 40 minutes.  North Hills gave out water bottles.

b.      Johnstown Competition - Patti Amos.  Everything went well.  Have not been billed yet for the Coach bus.

c.       Community Service - Patti Amos.  Kami will count the items received so far and information will be sent via email as to what has been received and what is needed.  All items will be used if there are extra.

III.               New Business

a.       Airfare to Nationals - Even though the rates are going down, when dealing with the whole group, it is not something that can be changed.

b.      Freshman bills - Will go out soon.  All fundraisers except Tambellini's second round and Betsy Ann will be applied.  They will carry into the JV account.

c.       Varsity and JV - $350 is due now for Nationals.  Last payment due after Slippery Rock competition December 6 will be figured out exactly, and bills will be run within the week after, which will include any fundraising credit.  We will need to know any additional people who will want a UCA package for Nationals.  $100 deposit per person will be needed.

d.      Sarris Candy - Danyele Bernick.  Twelve girls participated and made approximately $300.  During the middle of August. Sarris switched to smaller size which may have hurt sales.

e.       Cookie Dough - Darlene D'Eramo.  Twenty girls participated and made $1,228.  Twenty-three cents per box was deducted for delivery.  Linda Leo - Looking at another company which sells at $14 per 3-lb. tub.  No minimum - no shipping.

f.        Betsy Ann - Four girls participated and made approximately $300 profit.

g.       Tambellini's - Anthea Kachulis.  Due Tuesday, December 2.  Nut rolls went up 54%.  We would get $1 less profit - $3 as opposed to $4.

h.       Mini-camp - Barb McGill has volunteered as a co-chair.  Reps will send out email stating that another volunteer is needed.

IV.              Clothing

No word on senior t-shirt yet.  Nike tennis shoes came via UCA.

 V.                 Treasurer's Report - Ann Moss

Checking account balance is $29,570.13.  If teams do not receive a bid for Nationals at Slippery Rock, money that has been deposited to your account will be refunded.

VI.       UBO - Diane Thumma

Kennywood Day - We need to put together a basket or donate $50.  Volunteer needed to get whatever is decided upon to UBO.  UBO is requiring that each booster group take a job to help out with Kennywood Day.  Our job will be to stuff envelopes prior to May 21st, which is the date that Kennywoood tickets will begin being sold in the schools.  AD's office selling tickets June 22-23.  They would like a team photo that could be displayed. We could use poster from banquet.  Scholar Athlete awards will be given at banquet.  Seniors are eligible for scholarship from UBO.  Applications will be available on the website.

Spirit band to play at basketball games - three boys and three girls.  Requested to let coaches know when they are playing so the cheerleaders can join in.

Tiger Den items available via Athletic website.

Golden Tiger Booster Club - Hoping to do better next year.

T-shirt sales for next year - start early!  We do not want to lose this fundraiser to another group!

VI.              Squad Reps

a.       Varsity - JoAnn Vandergrift.  NA won B94 spirit contest!  Will decide what to wear to B94 at practice today.  Bus leaves at 6:00.  Trying to get cheerleaders on website.  Courtenay was asked to do a writeup. Sent link for video.  December 12 is the first basketball game for cheerleaders.

b.      JV - Linda Leo.  Practice changed from 4-6 to 3:30-5:30.  Attendance is mandatory.

Next meeting will be early January.  No December meeting.
