b.      Senior Night

Thank you to Patti Amos for wonderful Football and Soccer Senior nights and for providing gifts for the seniors and helping with all the locker decorations.

c.       Unite on Game Night

The annual Unite on Game Night was held at North Hills High School at the October 29th football game to collect coats to donate to North Hills Community Outreach.  Thank you to all the cheerleaders and parents for their help with this wonderful charity.

IV.                New Business

a.       Competition

Our first competition will be at Johnstown on November 20, 2010 followed by Slippery Rock University UCA Regionals on December 4th.   The UCA Regionals competition is the qualifier for  High School Nationals held in Orlando, Florida. Both Varsity and JV will compete and the Boosters wish them and their coaches the best of luck.  The JV squad will not be going to Orlando this year but could attend another competition.  This will be determined by the coaches at a later date.

b.      UBO Kennywood Donation

The Cheerleader Boosters will donate a gift card to the UBO.

c.       Booster President Meeting

The main topics of interest to the Cheer boosters from the Athletic Department were:

1.            Student Leadership Group. New student leadership groups will be formed to advise and help the Athletic Department this month.

2.            Annual Hall of Fame Banquet.  All Booster groups will be encouraged to purchase banquet tables and support the Hall of Fame next year.

3.            Capital improvements.   Booster Teams will be offered an opportunity to purchase flags to adorn the lampposts in the parking lot and celebrate the many wins for North Allegheny.

V.                  Treasurer’s Report

Mary Ellen Austen passed out the treasurer's report for review.  Competition fees and choreography fees have been paid and are listed on the Treasurer's Report.

VI.                Fundraising/Community Service

a.       On November 28th, the Varsity cheerleaders will participate again in the Mark Milovats in Concert: Christmas Magic at the Byham Theatershow.   This is a wonderful holiday show with a share of the proceeds going to Children’s Hospital and other charities.

b.      The cheerleading squads participated in the Marine Care Package Project.  Cheerleaders were requested to bring in items to send to the troops and provide small notes and encouraging signs to soldiers stationed in Afghanistan.   Over 40 boxes of treats were filled and will be dropped by helicopter to the troops hopefully in time for the holidays.  Thank you to the cheerleaders for all their help and to Mary Ellen Austin for heading this wonderful event.

c.        Cindy Werner will be currently collecting holiday bags with donations of educational supplies for the children of the Lincoln School where she is a teacher.  This is an optional giving opportunity for the cheerleading families. Cindy will provide a flyer describing the project. You can donate an educational book or novel, an educational game and/or school supplies.
