GIL WINS STATES AGAIN
North Allegheny Senior Ryan Gil earned another PIAA first place medal by running away from the competition in the 3000 Meter Run at the PTFCA Indoor State Championship Meet at Penn State University on Saturday. In a tightly contested race with Tom Trainer from LaSalle College, Gil edged him out for first place with a time of 8:34.14. This is Gil's second state championship this year, having earned a first place finish in Boys' Cross Country in the fall.
Also in the 3000 Meter Run, junior Logan Steiner earned a 12th place finish with a time of 9:13.94. In the Boys Distance Relay, the North Allegheny combo of Gil, Vincent Tonzo, Sean Madigan and Joe Pane ran 10th with a time of 10:45.19. For the Lady Tigers, senior Maddie Rohar took 12th place in the Girls Pole Vault (10-06.00) and sophomore Brooke Mancuso finished 21st (9-00.00) in the same event.
