MEET SUMMARIES

STEINER, BOJARSKI TAKE 2nd AT TSTCA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Juniors Logan Steiner and Sam Bojarski earned second place finishes at the TSTCA Championships at Edinboro University on Saturday.  Steiner took second place in the Boys 3000 Meter Run with a time of 8:58.15 while Bojarski earned second place in the Boys 1600 Meter Run with a time of 4:35.18.  The NA combination of Ryan Gil, Vincent Tonzo, Sean Madigan and Joe Pane claimed a second place finish in the Boys Distance Relay (10:43.15).  North Allegheny’s finish in the Distance Relay and Steiner’s time in the 3000 Meter Run also met the National Silver Standard.  For the NA Girls, Cassie Foulk took fifth place in the 60 Meter Hurdles (9.69) and Leah Laughlin earned sixth place in the 60 Meter Dash (8.18).

CARTER, GIL EARN FIRST PLACE FINISHES

The North Allegheny Indoor Track Team participated in the TSTCA Meet at Edinboro University this past Friday.  NA’s Halie Carter took first place in the Girls 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:22.26.  Not far behind, Lizzie Appleton finished in fourth place with a time 2:27.39.  Not to be outdone, Georgetown recruit Ryan Gil earned a first place finish in the Boys 3000 Meter Run with a time of 8:36.60. Gil’s performance in the 3000 Meter also met the national silver standard.  The combination of Vincent Tonzo, Sean Madigan, Brandon Merry and Brice Merry took second place in the Boys 4x400 Meter Relay.  The North Allegheny Indoor Track Team will be back in action on Saturday, February 19 at Edinboro University.

GAMBILL TAKES FIRST IN LONG JUMP

The North Allegheny Tigers Indoor Track team was back in action Saturday for the Tri State Coaches Association meet at Robert Morris University this weekend.  Sophomore Alex Gambill took first place in the Girls One Mile run with a time of 5:42.64.  Senior Taylor Yarshen claimed third place in the Girls Long Jump competition.  The North Allegheny Boys earned a first place finish in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 10:52.82.  Up next for the Tigers is a meet on Friday at Edinboro University starting at 5:00 pm.

GIL LEADS WAY FOR TIGERS AT BALDWIN

Senior Ryan Gil, already a state champion in Cross Country, was one of several NA Tigers to take first place at the Tri State Coaches Association meet at Baldwin on Saturday.  Gil finished first in the Boys One Mile Run with a time of 4:21.59, which also met the national silver standard.  Sophomore Kyle Shivetts earned first place in the Boys 60 Meter Dash with a time of 7.15.  North Allegheny grabbed first place in the Boys 4x400 Meter Relay.  Vincent Tonzo, Sean Madigan, Brandon Merry, and Brice Merry combined for a time of 3:33.27. 

For the Lady Tigers, Sophomore Cassie Foulk took second place in the Girls 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 9.85.  The NA Indoor Track team will be in action again next Saturday at Robert Morris University.

SHIVETTS PACES NA AT EDINBORO

Sophomore Kyle Shivetts shined the brightest for North Allegheny at the Tri State Coaches Association meet at Ebinboro University this weekend.  Shivetts took third place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.94, which also met the national silver standard.  In the 60 meter dash, Shivetts finished fourth at 7.18.  North Alleheny also claimed a first place medal in the Boys 4x400 meter relay.  Vincent Tonzo, Sean Madigan, Brandon Merry and Brice Merry outran all of the competition with a time of 3:38.60.  Madigan earned a sixth place finish with a time of 2:04.44.

Cassie Foulk took fourth place in the Girls 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.00.  Maddie Rohar tied for second place in the Girls Pole Vault competition.  The NA Indoor Track team will be in action again on Tuesday for a Pole Vault Meet at Butler.
