CHEERLEADING BOOSTER MEETING
Monday, October 20, 2008
I. Opening Remarks - Patti Amos
a. Tailgate - Turned out very nice. Thanks to Jean Brown for organizing.
b. Homecoming - Great job. Thanks to Mary Collins. The puppets were really
neat.
c. Football - Locker decorating going well.
d. Senior Pictures - Scott Photo donated 8 x 10 senior photos of each girl.
They will be displayed near the Athletic Office.
II. New Business - Patti Amos
a. Coat Drive - North Hills Unite on Game Night - North Hills game. JV -
girls asked to come early to help collect coats. Will be bussed at 6:00.
Girls have to ride the bus to North Hills and will need a note to the coach
to say if they are not riding home on the bus.
III. Fundraising - Patti Amos.
a. 2,330 T-Shirts were ordered and sold. We were given some extras.
Profit is approximately $9,000. This will be used for all coaches' fees
for Nationals - two per room - $1,000 per coach times four = $4,000. Also
will cover the difference in price for a coach bus as opposed to a regular
school bus for competitions in Johnstown and State College. Approximately
$100 per girl will go back into their account. This will be reflected on the
last bill for Nationals.
b. Sarris Candy - Danyele Bernick - Only 12 people participated and has all
been distributed. Can do again if there is interest.
c. Cookie Dough - Darlene D'Eramo - Turned in tonight. Profit is $6.00 per
box on $15.00 items, $5.60 on $14.00 items. Will cost $125 in the future to
deliver unless we have a minimum of 50 cases. There are eight in a case, so
we would need an order of 400 boxes minimum.
d. Tambellini's - Anthea Kachulis - Begin selling 11/4. Money due by 12/2.
Delivery on 12/10. Need help with delivery. Diane Thumma volunteered.
e. Betsy Ann - Information will be sent home. Starts October 24th. Sell
until 11/6. Turn in by 11/10. Delivery 11/21. 42% profit.
f. Salsa fundraiser is available for anyone who wants to chair. It is $5 per
jar with fifty percent profit. Free shipping. See Mary Collins if
interested.
IV. Community Service - Kami is aware of a home in West Virginia
which donates items to families in need. If we would like to donate for
Christmas, it is suggested that we do a washcloth that can be sewn with
pockets and would include a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and deodorant
rolled up and tied with a bow. See if we can get donations for some items.
The girls would get together and stuff the washcloths with items, roll and
tie with bow. Will send out further information through reps.
V. Travel to Nationals - Dana checked it out through a travel agent -
$40 non-refundable deposit per seat.
VI. Mini-camp - Diane Thumma - volunteers needed to chair. Suggest
two people work together. Advertising needs to go out early due to
competition from other cheer camps. This is very important as it pays for
all of the banquet at the end of the year including gifts. We made
approximately $9,000 before expenses this year.
VII. Payment due - JV and Varsity - $350 due 11/15. Next bill will
have calculated what is actually owed. We will know exact costs at that
point. Will include credits from fundraisers.
VIII. Clothing - Everything has been distributed.
IX. Varsity - Elizabeth Webber and JoAnn Vandergrift - Senior Night -
painted signs and decorated lockers. Thanks to Danyele Bernick for helping.
Will purchase candy for playoffs and future locker decorating in bulk while
available for Halloween. November 15 - first competition in Johnstown. All
dates for competitions are on the website.
X. Junior Varsity - No news.
XI. Freshmen - Jane Marroni - Football team playing at NASH Thursday
at 8:00 under the lights. Squad is down to 19. Ordered more clothing.
XII. Treasurer's Report - Ann Moss - Fundraisers are not complete
yet. Balance in checking is $37,600.
Next Meeting is Wednesday, November 19th
