Efficient Night For Tigers Propels NA Past Seneca Valley, 74-57

North Allegheny shot nearly 50 percent from the field and held Seneca Valley to 37 percent shooting in a 74-57 victory over the Raiders on Thursday night. The game was almost an identical match statistically with the exception of NA’s ability to hit the open shot and Seneca Valley’s inefficiency.

The Tigers were also sharp from beyond the arc, connecting on 9 of 18 on 3-point attempts. NA’s top sharpshooter was freshman Rachel Martindale who poured in 5 of 6 from the outside and finished with a team-high 16 points. North Allegheny had three others touch double figures, including Hailey Zeise with 14 points, Madelyn Fischer with 12 points and Taylor Lake with 11 points.

For Seneca Valley, Page Montrose tallied a game-high 17 points and collected 10 rebounds. Erin Danik also posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Michaela Lamont chipped in with 13 points for the Raiders.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 10-3 overall and 5-0 in Section 3-AAAA. The victory sets up a showdown of section unbeatens on Monday night when the Lady Tigers host the North Hills Indians. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
