NA Puts Finishing Touches On Perfect Trip Through Section 3
The North Allegheny Girls Basketball Team wrapped up a perfect trek through Section 3-AAAA with a 53-30 victory over the rival North Hills Indians on Thursday night on the road. The Lady Tigers pounced on the Indians in the first and third quarters to gain command of the game. NA opened up a 19-8 lead after one period of play and broke the game wide-open by outscoring North Hills 15-5 in the third.
The Lady Tigers were paced by sophomore forward Taylor Lake’s 15 points and sophomore guard Abby Gonzales’ 11 points. For North Hills, Sarah Treser led with a team-high 12 points.
North Allegheny improves to 18-1 overall and finishes with a 12-0 record in Section 3. North Hills finishes 2014 in last place in the section with a 2-10 record and 8-14 overall mark. The Lady Tigers will host Hempfield in a tough non-section test on Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
