NA Tops Seneca Valley To Clinch Share Of Section Crown
The North Allegheny girls’ basketball team clinched a share of the Section 3-AAAA title on Tuesday night with a 57-31 win over Seneca Valley. The game was filled with turnovers but the Lady Tigers prevailed by outrebounding the Raiders, 29-20, and by shooting 40 percent from the field. NA limited Seneca Valley to just 27 percent shooting in the game.
North Allegheny was led by junior Taylor Lake who scored a game-high 24 points and was 8 of 10 from the field. Sophomore Hailey Zeise connected on 4 of 5 shots and finished in double figures with 10. Seneca Valley’s top scorer was Brooke Lyczek who tallied nine points, but most of that was with the game out of reach.
The Lady Tigers improve to 18-2 overall and 10-1 in Section 3-AAAA. Seneca Valley drops to 10-9 overall and 5-6 in section play. North Allegheny plays host to the North Hills Indians on Friday night. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
