The North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team played a tough non-section contest at Peters Township on a rainy Friday night and fell by an 11-8 decision.

The Tigers got off to a good start with back-to-back goals in the first quarter by Marc Bartolomucci and Sam Porter for a 2-0 lead with 2:46 remaining in the first quarter. However, Peters Township scored five consecutive goals to take a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. NA stayed within striking distance the entire night but untimely turnovers and costly penalties prevented the Tigers from coming all the way back.

Bartolomucci and freshman Nick Sichak paced the offense with two goals each. Travis Lamark, Christian Tedder and Jonathan Castillo also tallied markers in the contest.

On defense, Matthew Miller totaled four ground balls and two takeaways. Senior Marco Pascarello posted four ground balls and senior Sean Boal contributed three ground balls and one takeaway.

Following the non-section loss, North Allegheny sits at 7-5 overall, while Peters Township is now 12-3 on the year. The Tigers continue their non-section slate with a visit to Manheim Township for another competitive matchup on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
