North Allegheny Cracks USA Today’s Super 25 Poll
Winners of 15 in a row, the WPIAL champion North Allegheny girls’ basketball team (25-1) is continuing to make waves this season. Already ranked No. 1 in the state of Pennsylvania by various polls, the Lady Tigers are now gaining national attention. In the most recent USA Today Super 25 Expert Ranking, the North Allegheny girls’ basketball team is ranked No. 22, the only team from Pennsylvania to make the list. The Tigers matched a program record by picking up their 25th win of the season last week with a 50-34 triumph over Hempfield in the first round of the PIAA tournament. North Allegheny will take on Mt. Lebanon in the PIAA second round tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. at Canon-McMillan High School. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
