NA Lacrosse Manhandles Maples, 11-2

Posted on:

North Allegheny continued its lengthy winning streak on Friday night by thoroughly defeating the Seaholm Maples, 11-2, in a non-section contest at Newman Stadium. The Tigers proved to be unfriendly hosts to their visitors from Michigan, doling out plenty of goals and punishment en route to a seventh straight win.

The North Allegheny defense controlled the game and senior faceoff man Alec Vissotski helped the Tigers control possession by going a perfect 15 of 15 on draws and reeling in a team-high 10 ground balls. Defensively, the Tigers did not allow a single shot on goal for the entire first half as the NA offense built a 10-0 lead by early in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Ben Maenza scored a team-best three goals, while sophomore Matt Osten and freshman Isaiah Davis netted two goals each. Other NA scorers included Greg Ferringer, Wes Powell, Dillon Bugni and Trevor Saundry. Ferringer also posted a team-leading three forced errors.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 7-1 overall. The Tigers will host Sewickley Academy on Monday night in a game that will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
