NA tripped up at Seneca Valley, 50-36
North Allegheny traveled to Seneca Valley High School on Thursday night to take on the Raiders in a Section 1-6A matchup. The Tigers led after a quarter of play but ultimately fell to the Raiders by a score of 50-36.
NA got two three-pointers and eight points from Vange Balouris in the first quarter and led 16-15 after the opening frame. Seneca Valley made their move in the second quarter going on an 13-2 run the first six minutes of the period, and took the lead 31-24 at halftime.
The Raiders really created separation in the third quarter as they outscored North Allegheny 13-4, and led 44-28 going into the final frame. In the fourth quarter, Rae Shanahan scored six of the Tigers’ eight points but it wasn’t enough as NA fell 50-36.
Balouris finished with 15 points. Shanahan added 13 points.
North Allegheny falls to 7-9 overall and 2-4 in the section. Seneca Valley improves to 10-5 overall and 6-0 in section play. The Tigers return to action on Tuesday when they host Pine-Richland at UPMC Court at 6:30 p.m. This will be apart of a girl/boy doubleheader and will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
