Tigers Top Raiders In Section Match
The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team found the back of the net early on the road to defeat Seneca Valley 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Senior captain Connor Heliger opened the scoring less than a minute into the match. Fellow senior Francis Randiga tossed a long throw in, finding sophomore Josh Tufts, who headed the ball to the back of the box where Heliger was waiting to head it past the goalie just 40 seconds in.
NA settled into a very defensive shape and frustrated the Raiders for the rest of the game. The defense did a great job of limiting the opportunities for Seneca Valley despite having the majority of the possession. The Tigers were relentless with the defensive pressure and executed the game plan to precision.
Jaxon Cowger earned the shutout in net.
