Art Walked Tabbed Class 6A Coach of the Year by Trib HSSN
North Allegheny head coach Art Walker Jr. has been named the WPIAL Class 6A Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season by the Trib Live High School Sports Network.
Coach Walker led North Allegheny to a a 13-2 record in 2023 and a second straight WPIAL Class 6A championship. Additionally, the Tigers rattled off nine consecutive wins and reached the PIAA championship game for the first time since 2012.
For his career, Walker boasts a coaching record of 244-70 and has led teams to seven WPIAL titles and three PIAA crowns. Under coach Walker’s tutelage, North Allegheny has amassed 183 wins, five WPIAL championships, two PIAA crowns and one PIAA runner-up.
Among his many accolades, Walker was also named the National Coach of the Year by the National Sports News Service in 2012 after leading NA to a WPIAL and PIAA title that season.
