Girls Basketball upended in Wright Automotive Tip-Off Tournament Finale
North Allegheny hosted the South Fayette Lions on Sunday afternoon in the finale of the Wright Automotive Tip-Off Tournament. The Lions jumped out to a 20-point lead at the end of the first quarter and upended the Tigers, 67-37.
South Fayette jumped out to a 17-2 lead in the first couple minutes and led 28-8 after a quarter of play. The second quarter was more of the same as NA trailed 47-12 going into the break. With a mercy rule in effect, the Lions coasted to a 67-37 win.
Vange Balouris finished the game with 14 points. For the second straight game, she was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game.
North Allegheny falls to 0-2. South Fayette improves to 2-0. The Tigers have a little time off now as they won’t be back in action until Monday, December 8 when they travel to Peters Township to take on the Indians in a non-section contest. Tip-off is scheduled at 6 p.m.
