Gonzales, Lake Reach 1,000 Point Milestone In Blowout Of Butler
Seniors Abby Gonzales and Taylor Lake both eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for their careers in a 56-32 triumph over the Butler Golden Tornado on Tuesday night. Gonzales finished with nine points on the night and poured in a 3-pointer early in the second half to hit exactly 1,000 for her career. Lake scored a game-high 24 points and currently sits at 1,002 points in her Tigers career. Both Gonzales and Lake received Wright Automotive Player of the Game honors.
The career milestones for Gonzales and Lake highlighted a blowout victory over Butler. The Tigers breezed by the Tornado for a 32-16 lead at halftime and continued to cruise in the second half. Freshman Rachel Martindale and sophomore Madelyn Fischer added eight points each for NA. Butler’s top scorer was sophomore Alyssa Eyth who totaled 15 points on the evening.
North Allegheny remains unbeaten in Section 3-AAAA with a 9-0 record and 14-3 mark overall. Butler is still winless in the section at 0-10 and is 2-14 overall. The Lady Tigers visit Oakland Catholic on Thursday night at 7:30 pm.
