The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team squared off against top-seeded Peters Township from Confluence Financial Partners Stadium in McMurray Saturday afternoon in the WPIAL 4A Boys Soccer Quarterfinals. A goal in the early stages of the second half proved the difference as the Indians took the 1-0 win.

Both teams played a competitive back-and-forth style in the first half, with limited scoring chances between the two teams.

In the 54th minute, Peters junior striker Keedan Kelly stole a loose ball within ten yards of the NA net and fired a quick shot that got past NA goalie Xavier Zyskowski.

North Allegheny had the majority of the offensive chances in the second half, but was unable to find the back of the net.

The senior class was named Wright Automotive Players of the Game, including Zyskowski, Gianni Corso, Justin Stalter, Jacob Vojtas, Leo Yu, Justin Chen, Elliot Swierczynski, Kevin Chen, Emmett Morris, Graham Kunz, Alexander Kynaston and Ben Powell.

The win keeps Peters Township unbeaten on the season as they prepare to face Seneca Valley in the WPIAL semifinals on Tuesday.

North Allegheny’s season comes to a close with a 10-6-3 overall record. Congrats to the team on another successful season!
