Jasmine Timmerson Tabbed PG’s Class 6A Player of the Year, Fab Five Pick

A day after being named to the Trib HSSN’s Terrific 10, North Allegheny senior guard Jasmine Timmerson has been honored by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as the WPIAL Class 6A Player of the Year. Additionally, Timmerson was selected to the PG’s Fab Five Team for the second consecutive season. Its the third time in the last four seasons a North Allegheny player was tabbed the PG’s Class 6A Player of the Year. Former Tiger Lizzy Groetsch earned the honor in 2020 and 2021.

Timmerson, who notched her 1,000th career point against Hempfield on Jan. 19, finished her four-year career at North Allegheny with 1,274 career points. She finishes as the eighth on North Allegheny’s all-time scoring list.

For the season, the University of Pittsburgh commit averaged 16.4 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals per game during her senior season. Timmerson led NA to a 22-6 record, a WPIAL Class 6A championship and PIAA quarterfinal round appearance. At the Peterson Events Center on March 3, Timmerson scored a Class 6A championship game record 30 points to propel the Tigers to a 71-45 win over Upper St. Clair.

In addition to her recent post-season accolades, Timmerson and fellow senior guard Cam Phillips have been selected to play in the annual Roundball Classic on May 20 at Geneva College. North Allegheny head coach Spencer Stefko will coach the WPIAL Class 6A girls’ team against District 10 for the all-star game that tips off at 3:00 p.m.
