North Allegheny football standout and Pitt commit Lincoln Hoke is in the running for one of Western Pennsylvania’s most prestigious awards given to linemen.

The senior was named a Bill Fralic Memorial Award finalist representing 6A on Monday.

Established in 2019, the Bill Fralic award is given to the best two-way senior lineman in the WPIAL who exemplifies leadership & stewardship. The honor is named after the late Bill Fralic, who was named a Pennsylvania “All-Century” team lineman out of Penn Hills. After graduating in 1981, he played for the Pitt Panthers before being drafted second overall to the Atlanta Falcons in the 1985 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Detroit Lions.

Last year, North Allegheny alum and current Princeton Football member Jack Yatchenko was nominated to represent the 6A classification.

Hoke is a two-way starter who has found his way onto the Big 56 first-team list for the third time in his career this fall after earning the award at defensive line last season and offensive line two years ago. In 12 games this season, Hoke accumulated a team-leading 80 tackles, including 12 for loss, seven sacks, four forced fumbles and two blocked kicks. The Pitt Football commit took home a plethora of awards at the regional and state level last season.

The winner will be announced at a special ceremony in the coming weeks.
