NA Bests Shaler For Section Win, 54-28
The top-ranked North Allegheny Tigers won their 15th in a row with a 54-28 victory over the Shaler Titans on Thursday night. The Tigers jumped out to a 23-10 lead by halftime and cruised to the Section 1-6A win.
Sophomore Lizzy Groetsch led the Tigers with a game-high 20 points and poured in a pair of 3-pointers. Senior Brynn Serbin added 13 points and three 3-pointers. Shaler was paced by Emily Cavacini, who posted 18 points in a losing effort.
North Allegheny leaps to 15-0 on the season and 8-0 in the section. Shaler slides to 4-10 overall and 3-5 in section play. The Tigers will visit Seneca Valley on Monday night.
