NA Bounces Butler, Spencer Stefko Earns 300th Career Coaching Win
The North Allegheny girls’ basketball stormed past the Butler Golden Tornado on Thursday night with a 59-41 road win. The Tigers jumped out to a 20-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back on their way to the Section 1-6A victory. The win was also the 300th career victory for head coach Spencer Stefko.
Junior Lizzy Groetsch led the charge for North Allegheny with a game-high 22 points and two 3-pointers. Junior Paige Morningstar netted 12 points, all during the first half barrage, and connected on a pair of shots from beyond the arc.
Butler was paced by Makenna Maier with 11 points and Hailey Metzger who chipped in with 10 points.
North Allegheny leaps to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in section play. Butler dips to 5-6 overall and 2-4 in the section. The Tigers will visit Cornerstone Christian in Ohio for a non-section game on Friday night.
