
NA Cruises Past Cumberland Valley, 69-25
The North Allegheny girls’ basketball team made it seven consecutive victories on Saturday afternoon with a 69-25 mercy-rule win at Cumberland Valley. The Tigers seized a 47-17 lead by the end of the third quarter and coasted to the win in the fourth.
In a well-balanced attack, 13 different players scored points for the Tigers. Senior guard Grace Heliger paced the team with a 13-point effort, followed by junior guard Leah Skweres with 12 points. Senior forward Lydia Betz also reached double figures with 10 points. In a dominating effort by NA and the team’s defense, no player scored mored than seven points for the Eagles.
North Allegheny improves to 13-1 overall with the non-section win. The Tigers will continue their central Pennsylvania road swing with a visit to Central Dauphin on Sunday.
