NA Hammers Hempfield, 66-46
The North Allegheny girls’ basketball concluded the first half of section play on Thursday night with a 66-46 road win at Hempfield in Section 1-6A action.
The Tigers stormed out to a 24-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Senior guard Caroline Henderson buried five 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 19 points to lead the way. Senior forward Lydia Betz also touched double figures with 14 points. Hempfield was paced by Sarah Podkul’s 15 points.
North Allegheny leaps to 12-1 overall and 4-1 in section play, while Hempfield falls to 7-8 overall and 0-5 in the section. The Tigers will visit Cumberland Valley on Saturday for a non-section game at 2:30 p.m.
