NA Smothers Seneca Valley, 56-26

North Allegheny won its third straight, and fourth in the last five games, with a 56-26 road victory at Seneca Valley on Thursday night.

The Tigers used a suffocating defense to smother the Raiders, allowing only 15 points through the first three quarters. NA led 23-11 at the half and broke the game wide open by outscoring Seneca Valley in the third, 17-4, for a 40-15 advantage. With the game out of reach for SV, the Tigers coasted to the win in the fourth quarter.

Senior Jasmine Timmerson paced the Tigers with a game-high 14 points. Junior forward Lydia Betz netted 12 points, including six in the third quarter. The NA defense didn’t permit a double-digit scorer. Seneca Valley’s team leader was Natalie Hambly with seven points.

North Allegheny leaps to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in Section 1-6A. Seneca Valley dips to 3-10 overall and 0-4 in the section. The Tigers travels east for the Chambersburg Invitational on Saturday to face Imhotep Charter at 4:30 p.m.
