The North Allegheny Girls Basketball Team beat Indiana Area, 58-38, in a non-conference tilt on Saturday night from UPMC Court.

The two teams traded points in the first quarter, with the game tied at 12 following the first frame.  Seniors Caroline Henderson and Grace Heliger sparked the Tigers in the early stages of the contest. The Indians had strong play from senior Cassie Boyer inside the paint during that time.

The second quarter was low scoring, as NA held a 21-20 edge at the halftime break.

North Allegheny opened the second half with a quick 5-0 run to jump ahead of Indiana and never looked back. Strong play from seniors Kellie McConnell and Lydia Betz ensured the game would be out of reach. The four seniors mentioned were the only Tigers to score in the contest, with Henderson dropping 20 points, Heliger netting 14 points, McConnell scoring 13 points, and Betz adding 11 points with 9 rebounds.

A 20-point fourth quarter put the game away for NA. Boyer finished the contest with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Fellow senior Bella Antonacci had 9 points which all came in the second half. Her younger sister sophomore Julia Antonacci was the only other Indian in double figures with 10 points.

Henderson earned Wright Automotive Player of the Game laurels for her offensive showcase.

The Tigers improve to 15-2 overall and are back in action at home Tuesday for a section matchup with Pine-Richland. That girls-boys doubleheader can be heard starting at 5:45 p.m. on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
