NA Wins A Pair At Hoban Hoopfest
The North Allegheny girls’ basketball team traveled to Akron, Ohio, over the weekend and came away with a pair of victories at the Hoban Hoopfest. On Saturday night, the Tigers defeated Toledo Central Catholic, 64-48, and followed that up on Sunday with a 68-34 victory against Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
Against Toledo Central Catholic, NA held a 43-37 lead before blowing open the game in the fourth quarter. Senior forward Lydia Betz led the way with 25 points, followed by Kellie McConnell and Rae Shanahan with 12 points each.
In the finale against Stow-Munroe Falls, Betz was once again the leading scorer with 25 points as the Tigers won in a rout. Senior guard Caroline Henderson netted 18 points with four 3-pointers and McConnell finished with 10 points.
North Allegheny improves to 4-0 on the season following the Hoban Hoopfest and will visit North Hills on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 12:30 p.m.
