North Allegheny Comes from Behind to Defeat North Hills on Senior Night
By: Bob Orkwis
On a night when the Tigers honored their seniors, North Allegheny staged a dramatic quick-strike second-half comeback in a AAAA-3 match against visiting North Hills, posting a 3-2 victory at Newman Stadium.
North Allegheny struck first when its leading goal scorer, Francis Randiga, found the net in the 22nd minute. The junior took a cross from senior Alexander Kynaston from the right flank to the left wing, and Randiga notched his 5th goal of the year.

It didn’t take long for the Indians to find the equalizer. Tyler Devlin scored his 8th goal of the season on the move with a strong left-footed strike from 30 yards to tie the game at 1-1.
North Hills took the lead, and again it was Devlin with the tally. The senior found a loose ball at the near post and somehow managed to get a shot through traffic, then he tracked the rebound and slid it home to put the Indians ahead 2-1 in the 59th minute.
The Indians had momentum, but the Tigers took it back in a hurry. North Allegheny tied the game with exactly 11 minutes left on the clock. Senior Justin Stalter took a pass from the left flank and deflected the ball into the net for his 2nd goal of the season to make it 2-2. Then just 17 seconds later, North Allegheny struck again with a beautiful goal for the game winner. Vik Vaders drifted down the left wing towards the corner and fed a perfect cross to the right post, where Robbie Murray was waiting to head the ball home to put the Tigers in front 3-2.
North Hills never threatened after that burst, and the Tigers secured the win, ending their two-game losing streak.
Murray was the Wright Automotive Player of the Game. Not only did the sophomore convert the fantastic feed from Vaders for the game-winning tally, but the marker was also his first as a varsity player for North Allegheny.
