The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team hosted Seneca Valley at Newman Stadium Tuesday night in rainy conditions. The Raiders scored the lone goal of the contest, winning 1-0 and sweeping the regular season series between the teams.

The first half was back and forth with good opportunities on both ends of the field. Goalies Chase Good and Xavier Zyskowski played well in net all night. Seneca’s Owen Eastgate had the best offensive chance in the first half, coming in on a one-on-one with a shot stopped by Zyskowski.

Eastgate got another chance and made the most of it with just under 10 minutes left in the contest. He took a ball from a near-sideline throw-in and chipped a high-velocity shot with movement from 16 yards out. The ball just cleared Zyskowski’s hand and found the back of the net on the far post to give the Raiders the lead.

Zyskowski was named Wright Automotive Player of the Game for his efforts in net, making multiple saves throughout the contest. Other players who had a good night for the Tigers included junior Frances Randiga, with a couple of chances in the first half, and juniors Harper Boles and Owen Lopresti, who were good in transition through the game.

The Tigers fall to 9-4-2 overall and 5-3-1 in section play. The final section match of the Regular season is slated for Thursday at Fox Chapel. That contest is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
