Randiga Hat Trick Powers Tigers Past Golden Tornado
North Allegheny boys’ soccer traveled to Butler on Thursday for a section match with the Golden Tornado. The Tigers earned another shutout victory by a score of 3-0.
NA came out fast and controlled much of the possession early in the game but could not find a goal. The Tigers earned numerous corner kicks but could not convert.
With the first half winding down, junior Vik Vaders took the ball down the left side and his cross found senior captain Francis Randiga in the middle of the field. Randiga cashed in, and the first half ended 1-0 despite numerous chances for NA.
The second half started out the way the first half ended. About halfway through, Vaders again crossed the ball to Randiga, who finished for his second goal of the night. With under a minute remaining, the captain was able to complete his hat trick by heading home a Caiden Sowa corner kick.
Jaxon Cowger earned the shutout in net.
The Tigers improve to 5-1 on the season, including a 3-0 mark in section play. NA hosts Allderdice Saturday evening as part of a girls’/boys’ doubleheader from Newman Stadium. Both matches will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network, with the boys’ contest starting at 6:30.
