Three members of the North Allegheny boys’ soccer team officially confirmed their college choices Thursday. Seniors Caleb Rumberger, Lucas Henderson and Noah Hutter have signed national letters of intent with the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg, Allegheny College and the Rose–Hulman Institute of Technology, respectively. All three schools compete at the NCAA DIII level.
Rumberger tallied three goals while being a major part of the team’s offensive attack this past season. He earned Big 56 All-Conference First Team laurels this fall after making the Big 56 Honorable team his junior year. Rumberger is set to study Finance and Management at Pitt-Greensburg.
Henderson was crucial on throw-ins and sparks to the offense and transition game this season for the Tigers. He also earned a Big 56 All-Conference second-team selection. Henderson will be following in his father’s and sister’s footsteps to Meadville next fall. Amelia is a former NA girls’ lacrosse standout who is a current junior with the Gators. She earned All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference honors in each of the last two seasons in women’s lacrosse. Lucas will be studying Political Science and could attempt to walk onto the track and field team along with playing soccer next year.
Hutter was another mainstay on the NA attack, scoring five goals in the 2024 campaign. He is planning to study Computer Science at RHIT, which is located in the Terre Haute, Indiana area.
All three players were key contributors to a team that went 16-4-1, won a share of the section title and reached the WPIAL Semifinals.
