Tigers Defense Stymies Central Dauphin, 32-23
North Allegheny extended its winning streak to eight in a row on Sunday with a 32-23 victory at Central Dauphin.
Facing a perennial power from District 3 and state qualifier from a season ago, the Tigers used a suffocating defense that stymied the Rams all game long. In a tightly contested non-section affair, NA held a 25-21 lead after three quarters. The Tigers clamped down in the final stanza and permitted only one basket over the final eight minutes and claimed a nine-point victory.
Offense was hard to come by in this one and senior forward Lydia Betz was the lone player to touch double figures, scoring 12 points and displayed her shooting range with a pair of 3-pointers.
North Allegheny leaps to 14-1 overall with the non-section win and will to atone for its only defeat of the season with a visit to section rival Norwin on Thursday night.
