After Cumberland Valley ended the Tigers season a year ago in the PIAA tournament, North Allegheny got a little bit of revenge with a 59-35 win over the Eagles on Saturday afternoon at UPMC Court in a non-section contest.

Cumberland Valley’s offense struggled to find their legs early and NA took full advantage jumping out to a 10-4 lead. The Eagles would settle in after that but North Allegheny still held a 17-10 lead after a quarter of play. The Tigers started to separate themselves by scoring the first seven points of the second quarter extending their lead to 24-10. Cumberland Valley was once again able to battle back but NA led 29-17 heading into the half. Kellie McConnell was big for the Tigers in the first half. She scored all eight of her points in half number one.

After being held to four points and no field goals in the first half, Jasmine Timmerson exploded in half number two scoring 18 of the Tigers 30 points in the half. North Allegheny got the lead up to 20 to end the third quarter at 46-26 and coasted in the fourth for a 59-35 victory.

Timmerson finished with 22 points. For her efforts, she was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game. Caroline Henderson had 12 points and Cam Phillips added nine points.

North Allegheny improves to 14-4 overall. NA has won 6 in a row. Cumberland Valley falls to 12-7. The Tigers will return to action Tuesday when they take on Seneca Valley at 6:30 p.m. at UPMC Court. It is part of a girl/boy doubleheader. The game will be broadcasted live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
