Tigers Punish Peters Township, Await WPIAL Playoffs
The North Allegheny girls’ basketball team picked up a 57-43 win over the playoff-bound Peters Township Indians on Friday night. The Indians represented a tough test for the top-ranked Tigers and NA passed with flying colors in their final exam of the regular season. Both teams will await the WPIAL playoff pairings which will be announced on Tuesday night.
With a well-balanced attack, North Allegheny received a game-high 10 points from senior Hailey Zeise. Juniors Madelyn Fischer, Audrey Lane and Piper Morningstar all chipped in with nine points apiece. Sophomore Rachel Martindale added eight points.
Three Indians finished in double figures with Isabella Mills netting a team-leading 11 points. Alyssa Konopka and Makenna Marissa totaled 10 points each.
North Allegheny wraps up the regular season with a 21-1 overall record. Peters Township, the second place finisher out of Section 3, ends the regular season with a mark of 13-7.
