Tigers take care of business at Woodland Hills
North Allegheny traveled to Woodland Hills High School on Friday night to take on the Wolverines in a Section 1-6A battle. The Tigers took care of business defeating Woodland Hills, 44-11.
NA jumped all over the Wolverines defensively only allowing one field goal in the opening frame to lead 15-3 after a quarter of play. The Tigers got 11 points from Vange Balouris in the second period and expanded their lead to 34-7 going into halftime.
With 6:24 remaining in the third quarter, North Allegheny took a 38-7 lead, putting the mercy rule into effect. The Tigers would coast from there for a 44-11 victory.
Balouris finished with 17 points.
North Allegheny improves to 8-10 overall and 3-5 in the section. Woodland Hills falls to 0-17 overall and 0-8 in section play. The Tigers will be right back on the floor on Saturday when they host the Pine-Richland Rams at UPMC Court at 8 p.m. This game will be broadcast live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
