The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team hit the road Tuesday for a section clash with rival Pine-Richland in the second of two regular-season meetings between the programs. The Tigers came out on top with a 2-1 win in overtime.

NA cracked the scoresheet first in the 26th minute of play when senior Emmett Morris scored on a header from a throw-in from junior Francis Randiga. The Rams responded four minutes later on a rebound from a direct kick tapped in by Jordan Crutchfield to even the match.

North Allegheny dominated possession throughout the contest, with Pine-Richland keeping eight defenders in the box.

The go-ahead and game-winner didn’t come until overtime for the Tigers. In a very similar play from the first goal of the contest, Randiga had a long throw-in with 18 seconds left in the first OT. The toss found Morris again in great position to head the ball over the goal line with just two seconds left in the extra frame.

Senior Xavier Zyskowski gets the win in net, making five saves.

North Allegheny improves to 8-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in section play. NA is back in action on the road Thursday against Butler for a 7:30 p.m. match.
