Tigers Take Third-Place At KSA Tournament With Win Over Sarnia North

The North Allegheny girls’ basketball team wrapped up their trip to the Sunshine State with a 60-42 win over Sarnia North (Canada) on Thursday evening. Facing international competition at the KSA Disney Tournament, the Tigers earned a third-place trophy by virtue of their win over Sarnia North.

The Tigers pounced on their opponent in the first quarter and vaulted to a 20-4 lead. NA built a 45-23 advantage by the end of the third quarter and coasted in the final stanza to the win.

Nine different players scored points for the Tigers, including junior guard Kellie McConnell with a game-high 17 points and four 3-pointers. Junior forward Lydia Betz also touched double figures with a 10-point effort.

Following the non-section win, North Allegheny improves to 4-2 overall. The Tigers return home to open the new year and section play with a visit to top-ranked Norwin on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
