The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team traveled to Butler for the second meeting of the season with the Golden Tornado. The Tigers came out on top with a 1-0 overtime winner Thursday night.

NA dominated with a strong defensive effort and controlled possession throughout the game, but was unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities in regulation.

Junior Francis Randiga delivered the golden goal in the extra frame.  In the 85th minute, the Tigers lined up for a corner kick delivered by senior Justin Chen. Randiga headed the ball into the net off the corner kick attempt to end the contest.

Senior Xavier Zyskowski had to make just one save on six Butler shots to earn the win in net.

North Allegheny improves to 9-3-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the section. The Tigers head back home to Newman Stadium for a critical section rematch with Seneca Valley Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. You can listen to that match live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
